Process, Manufacturing and Packaging

THE PROCESS

All of our designs are created in the Melbourne studio and manufactured in collaborations with our partners in Indonesia. We can't praise enough the quality and passion that is Indonesia bringing to us. From fabrics to ethical practises and transparency we feel this is the right place for our brand.

THE MANUFACTURING

We work with ethical makers and artisans in Indonesia and our garments are never mass produced plus we only order to demand. Where it's possible, sustainable practices, initiatives and packaging are in place, and we are working to educate ourselves to evolve further in this space.

“The general definition of ethical fashion, is fashion that aims to reduce the negative impact on people, animals, and the planet. Producing an item of clothing involves design, labour, and materials. Ethical fashion is kind to the planet and people every step of the way: from seed to garment.”

OUR PACKAGING

At Oli & Kubo we only use compostable & biodegradable mailers. They are 100% home-compostable shipping mailer and are made from 70-80% PBAT (a co-polymer that is completely compostable) and 20-30% PLA (which is a fancy way of saying cornstarch). In a commercial compostable environment, it will break-down within 90 days. At home, it may take up to 120 days. The great thing about them is they are also reusable. For our box mailers we use 100% Eco- recyclable cardboard mailers.
